Responsible Travel

Responsible tourism and travel leads to sustainable tourism.

There is a growing understanding that travel and tourism should not detract from the destination being visited but should be beneficial to both tourist and host.

Responsible tourism is about tourists making environmentally friendly, sustainable, ethical and respectful choices when travelling and minimising the negative impact of tourism.

Responsible Tourism Code for the South Pacific

This was developed in 2002 specifically for the South Pacific but is equally relavant elsewhere.
